Only The Next Avatar Can Ace This Quiz! Can You?

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, fans of The Last Airbender TV show lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the series ended. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could bring them together again, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. And although her bending skills were super cool, she had a lot to live up to before super-fans were satisfied.

Do you remember what we learned about Toph’s life after the war ended? We all know how Legend of Korra finished and many of us have seen the entire series over and over again. You might think that you know enough about the world of Avatar to be a character on the show yourself, and we respect that… but do you really? Now’s your chance to prove to the world just how much you remember about your favorite show, and whether or not you’re ready to take on the challenges of becoming… The Next Avatar!

Oh Zuko, you lost emo teenager… If Zuko were a teenager in the real world, he would wear black nail polish and hang out under bridges at grunge shows. Ah yes. The Beifong. They were annoyingly polite and protective of Toph, whom we all know needed no protection from her family! Who didn’t tear up a little and the sound of his music, full of sorrow and longing for the life his son never had? We learned all about her sad upbringing in season 3, but do you remember how many identical sisters poor Ty Lee grew up with?

Zuko had one of the most impressive character arcs on the show, going from a revenge-crazed, emotional wreck of a teenager to a much beloved leader of the Fire Nation by the end of the series. Zuko’s contradictory traits, beliefs, and behaviors can be attributed to his dual natures, embodied by the violence dominant on his father’s side and the powerful love he received from his mother. He was domineering and controlling, a result of his upbringing as Fire Nation royalty, and disdained working with people he believed were inferior; yet he adamantly refused to view people as expendable. From which ancient relative did Zuko get his most powerful bending ability from?

Question 18

What did Sokka nickname this creepy assassin?

This terrifying (and a bit silly) firebending assassin was a silent bounty hunter hired by Prince Zuko, back when he still had that ridiculous emo ponytail, to track down and eliminate Aang and his friends. The two became best friends and were together for most of their lives up until Aang's death. How did Aang choose Appa to be his companion?

Question 21

How many children do Aang and Katara have?

It’s a little late for this to require a ‘spoiler alert’, isn’t it? Katara and Aang do end up growing out of their awkward first-kissing phase and have a family together, and we all know one particular airbender becomes Korra’s mentor in the future. But do you remember how many children they had in total? Think carefully...

But you should know the answer to this question: Where were Aang’s scars located from Azula’s attack?

Question 23

How did the monks know that Aang was the next Avatar?

Aang was born to two Air Nomads in 12 BG. The Air nomads, who knew the next Avatar would be reincarnated as one of their own after Avatar Roku died defending his city from an erupting volcano, were quick to confirm his identity.
