With the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp this summer, the Marvel Cinematic Universe became one of the longest running movie franchises of all time with twenty movies in total. Now, according to Fandango, the only franchises with more movies than the MCU are James Bond, Godzilla, and the Carry On... series of UK comedy movies.
And the MCU is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. According to IMDb, there are ten more MCU movies in the pipeline, including three films in 2019 alone. In the coming years, we'll also be treated to a Black Widow solo movie, a Black Panther sequel, a third Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and many more. While some of those projects may simply be rumored, the message is clear: the MCU is not going anywhere for a long time. This year, the franchise celebrated its tenth anniversay, fittingly, with what Box Office Mojo reports is its highest grossing movie so far, Avengers: Infinity War.
