Anybody Who Can Name All These Songs Was Totally Emo In High School

There are a ton of genres of music. Whether it's pop, hip-hop, country, or rock music, just about everyone has a favorite genre of music. Some people even change their favorite genre through the years and, when they're younger really love one genre of music but start to like another genre as they grow up. One specific sub genre of music is emo music, classified by lyrics with a high emotional content. According to Wikipedia, this genre got its start as a subgenre of the post-hardcore genre that grew out of the 1980s. By the 1990s, bands like Jimmy Eat World and Weezer had started to shift the face of emo music to a more pop punk sound and the genre continued to grow that way for quite some time.

In the early-to-mid 2000s, emo music grew to be even more popular with bands like My Chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, and The Used releasing music in this genre. Along with a certain style of music, emo musicians and their fans also started to become known for their fashion sense which often included studded belts, skinny jeans, and t-shirts with amusing slogans on them. Even though many bands that were known for their emo sound in the 2000s have changed their sound since then, those songs are still catchy classics.
