When it comes to TV shows you get two different types of people; the fans and the superfans. Now you might consider yourself to be the ultimate fan of American Horror Story, but how well do you really know it?

Fans are the ones who have seen every season and who know all of the main characters names. They might even know a little about the actors who play those characters. But the superfans? They are different. They make it their business to find out more about all the characters and their stories. They watch out for special appearances and clues hidden within the show. They wonder about connections between the seasons and debate what will happen next. But it's not always that easy to spot the difference between a superfan and a regular fan, is it? Clue: This character, portrayed by John Carroll Lynch, was one of the serial killers that James Patrick March invited to the Hotel Cortez for a Devil's Night Dinner Party in AHS: Hotel. He is based on a real person. American Horror Story creators often use real-life figures as a basis for their characters and this was one of them. In real life, this serial killer took the lives of 33 people before he was finally caught and ultimately put to death.

Clue: This bedraggled character appeared in the sixth season of American Horror Story; Roanoke. She was the head of a very strange family who made a deal with a powerful witch in order to remain on their land. This character was played by Francis Conroy (in the My Roanoke Nightmare documentary). Clue: You'll surely recognize this performer from Fräulein Elsa's Cabinet of Curiosities? He was born with a rare genetic condition, a deformity of the limbs which made his arms look like flippers. This unique character also had tattoo's all over his body, everywhere in fact. except for his face - which he felt was too handsome to cover up with ink. In AHS: Freak Show he played the drums but he also played the role of Elsa's secret lover. Can you name this character?

What was this character's name?

Clue: This character appears in the Murder House backstory. She was one of the very first occupants of the house. In her first role on American Horror Story Lily Rabe played this character; the wife of a famous Hollywood surgeon who falls from grace when he becomes a drug addict. She is unable to hide her contempt and hate for her once-successful husband and treats him cruelly. Unable to stand the misery any longer she eventually kills herself and becomes a ghost in the Murder House.

Clue: You'll surely this guest star from season four? He played the character who became the owner of Fräulein Elsa's Cabinet of Curiosities for a short time. He had a "special" relationship with his ventriloquist puppet named Marjorie. This twisted character suffered from psychosis and firmly believed that his puppet was a living person, who could tell him what to do. He eventually kills her by sawing her in half but because he thinks he really murdered a person, he turns himself over to the police.

Cheyenne Jackson, who plays the role of this annoying character in the sixth season of the show, has appeared in three seasons of AHS so far, namely; Hotel, Roanoke, and Cult. In this season he was a pompous TV executive who liked to push people around and he wasn't afraid to alienate others if it meant that he could get to the top.
