Mean Girls was released in 2004 and was based on a 2002 self-help book entitled Queen Bees and Wannabes. The book is about the way that social cliques and rumors in high school can be damaging to teen girls during this time in their life and just about anyone who went to high school and ever had drama among their friends or classmates will totally agree that they were not wrong about that. The movie was written by Tina Fey who also played the role of Mrs. Norbury in the film, a teacher at the school that Cady, played by Lindsay Lohan, and the popular clique known as The Plastics attended.
Since its release, the movie has become a huge hit and even though it's been out for 14 years, it's still as popular as ever. People still quote it and laugh at the jokes and are constantly referencing it. We can't blame them, it's a classic!
