Renée travels with her husband for a while, as he moves around a lot with work. Eventually, they both relocate and settle in a town that is relatively far from where they had lived with Bella. Renée wants Bella to move here after her accident in the first book (Twilight), but Bella is adamant that she wants to stay in Forks. In Eclipse, Bella and Edward visit her mother and stepfather, and Renée tries to convince Bella to go to school there.

The Volturi coven plays a huge role in keeping the peace of the vampire world. Renée is very artsy, and while she was pregnant with Bella, she did a lot of decorating and knitting to prepare for the baby.
