Mean Girls will go down in history as one of the best cult movies for girls, ever. It is the story of Cady Heron, who has been raised outside of the country and homeschooled by her parents. When their tenure ran out, however, they moved back to the American suburbs, and Cady had to begin high school completely clueless as to how a "normal" teen girl behaves. Luckily (or perhaps not), she unwittingly becomes part of the school's most popular clique. This changes her, and not for the better. What results is a funny tale about four girls in high school whose idiocy and vanity make for some pretty funny jokes, quotes, and situations. As we know, everything turns out ok for Cady, Regina, Gretchen, Karen, and all of the other characters, but for awhile in the movie their futures seem uncertain.

Are you a huge Mean Girls fan? Do you remember it well, or barely at all? Either way, this quiz will put your knowledge of this very "fetch" movie to the test, and you will see  if you need to get watching it again for a refresher course. Or maybe you ace the quiz, and it's because you have watched it so many times, and now you will celebrate by watching again. Whatever the case may be, take this quiz to see where you fall on the "remembering Mean Girls" scale. Worst case scenario is you learn a little something you didn't know about this film, or it jogs your memory from what you do know.

Good luck, Losers!

Question 1

Where did Cady live before returning to America?

Mean Girls starts out when we meet the movie's protagonist, a high school girl named Cady Heron. Cady is different than most high-schoolers because she has never been to an actual school before; she has been raised in a different country and been homeschooled by her parents. Because of this she not only experiences culture shock in returning to the United States, but culture shock in trying to figure out how an American high school works. Which part of the world did she live in until the start of the movie?

Question 2

Who tries to make "fetch" happen?

The girl who tries to make "fetch" happen is the same girl who hates her calves and was told by Regina that she wasn't allowed to wear her beloved hoop earrings anymore. The actual meaning of the word "fetch" is cool, expensive, or nice. But Regina is not a fan of this slang term, and even gets frustrated and says, "Stop trying to make 'fetch' happen! It's not going to happen!" It is first heard in the movie when referring to Cady's bracelet, and the girl who says it says it is " like slang from... England."

Question 3

What are Regina, Gretchen, and Karen known as?

Cady meets lots of new people upon her return to America and subsequent start of high school. There are of course new teachers, new classmates, and new friends. Not all of her new friends get along with each other, because some of them are pretty polar opposites. Her main group of friends throughout the movie consists of three other girls named Regina, Gretchen, and Karen. Their little clique is the most popular in school, and they even have a name for themselves. What is it?

Question 4

Where does Cady eat lunch on her first day of school?

The first day of school is never easy, especially if you have just moved from Africa and have no friends, like poor Cady at the beginning of the movie. The second day she has it a little better, but that first day, not so much. Did she spend her first lunch in high school with her new friends The Plastics, outside with Damian, at home alone, or in a bathroom stall? None of these options sound very appealing, but Cady wound up just fine in the end.

Question 5

Who is Cady's crush?

What would a movie about mean high school girls be without a boy? The boy that Cady focuses her attention on has his own opinion about The Plastics girls, and that is that, "Stupid girls make up rumors because they're bored with their own lame lives." This guy is a senior, and one the most hot and popular guys at the high school. He plays soccer and football, and helps his mom out a lot. He is an all-around pretty cool guy, although he used to date Regina George. What is his name?

Question 6

Who does Karen make out with at the party?

Amanda Seyfried's character is probably the funniest of the bunch, because she is so ditzy and clueless, but at the same time endearing. Some of the funny things she says in the movie include "I can put my whole fist in my mouth. Wanna see?" and "I'm sorry I laughed at you that time you got diarrhea at Barnes and Noble." Her character is kind of slutty, and winds up making out with somebody she probably, no definitely shouldn't have.

Question 7

Which unseen character receives the most Candy Cane-grams?

As part of Janice's scheme to break up the plastics and bring Regina down, Cady is instructed to buy 3 Candy Cane-grams as an act of sabotage. When it comes time to deliver the them, Damien comes to class, mildly Santa'd up, and gives them out. Gretchen finds that she's been shunned by Regina and fears the worst. However, an unseen character manages to score a whopping 4 Candy Cane-Grams, not that anybody notices. Plastics gossip is just too juicy!

Question 8

What item is Gretchen not allowed to wear, as decreed by Regina?

Actress Lacey Chabert has a very distinctive look, and an even more distinctive voice. In fact, she has lent that voice to several animated films and television series over the years, and it worked well for her playing this character in Mean Girls. As it turns out, she's been banned from wearing a certain item.

Question 9

Who plays Regina's mom?

One of the greatest and weirdest moments in the movie is when we're introduced to Regina's mom. It almost starts to make sense that she'd be so self-centred and power-hungry when you consider that she has the biggest room in a giant house and her mom does anything she asks. It's some real insight into her character and is deeply confusing the older you get and the more you sympathize with her mom who seems to have been cursed with a vindictive tyrant of a kid.

Question 10

What is Damian, according to Janice?

One of Cady's friends at North Shore High School is a flamboyantly gay young man. His best friend, who is a girl, is almost always seen by his side, and she describes him in a very specific way that eventually leads to Cady being blamed for the Burn Book. What is her relationship to Cady?

What did Gretchen's father invent?

Gretchen Wieners is the only brunette member of The Plastics, and she is nicer deep down than Regina and Karen. Question 13

What silly question does Karen ask Cady?

Of course, Karen says a million funny things throughout Mean Girls, many of which are questions. But one of the funniest and most memorable happened when Cady sat down at the cafeteria table with The Plastics for the first time. While it was common knowledge that Karen was not the brightest crayon in the box (and probably obvious to Cady, too), no one expected her to ask this!
